Property Casualty Senior Associate (4-6+yr PQE), London
Job Introduction
DAC Beachcroft is recognised as a leading market practice in property insurance, providing a comprehensive service that includes handling a broad range of coverage, liability, defence and recovery issues, from high-profile,multi-million pound major incidents and complicated policy coverage issues to dealing with modest value volume property claims and one-off, ad-hoc claims. Their clients include the majority of property insurers of all types, predominantly with a UK focus.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Associate to join the team where you will gain exposure to a wide variety of cases, large amounts of contact with clients and senior management, all whilst working in an environment that provides a large degree of autonomy and a good work/life balance.
Role Responsibility
- Managing caseload and/or supporting Partners and colleagues on larger complex cases.
- Analysing and applying legal principles and facts to derive technically sound, commercial strategies for complex cases.
- Drafting and reviewing correspondence, reports and litigation documents.
- Maintaining caseload in good organisational shape and in accordance with client quality and service level agreements.
- Co-ordinating instructions and workflow for key client accounts, comprising triaging instructions and delegating workload to the most appropriate team member.
- Supervising junior team members across a case from start to finish.
- Managing and develop junior members of the team.
- Developing an understanding of the client's, and our business, and how the two fit together.
The Ideal Candidate
- Ideally a 4-6yr PQE (can be flexible for either more junior or senior) lawyer with experience working in the Property Casualty space.
- The ability to run your own caseload and work in an autonomous fashion.
- Strong academic record.
- Capable of analysing and applying legal principles to a complex factual scenario, with a view to achieving a commercial resolution for the client.
- Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day issues.
- The ability to think and act quickly and under pressure for clients who find themselves in crisis.
- Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
