Billing Supervisor - CSG Finance

Job Introduction

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Billing Supervisor to join our dynamic professional services firm, reporting to the Billing Manager. The Billing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the billing for our clients. This includes supervising a team, monitoring billing activities, implementing effective billing strategies, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in billing and excellent leadership skills.

What you will do

  • Supervise and lead a billing team across a range of billing requirements, including e-billing, providing guidance, training, effective monthly performance reviews and probationary reviews, ensuring appropriate SMART objectives and succession planning are in place.
  • Ensure accurate and effective bill processing, delivery, and query resolution, within agreed SLAs. This includes data integrity of key data items required for efficient 'right first time' billing, e.g. rates, references, and client ebilling requirements
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering a client-centric approach within the team.
  • Work off own initiative to problem solve, develop, and implement strategies to maximize billing accuracy, ensuring billing targets and objectives are achieved, whilst providing regular feedback to management. 
  • Collaborate and escalate promptly to senior stakeholders to resolve complex billing issues.
  • Manage own ledger by way of example, responsible for clients with highly technical and complex billing and delivery arrangements.
  • Support the Billing Manager in driving projects and initiatives.
  
Who you are 

  • Minimum of 3 years of Supervisory experience in a high volume, fast paced environment. 
  • Experienced in all areas of legal billing including e-billing. 
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding billing targets and performance metrics.
  • Understanding of financial processes and systems to be able to lead the team through a time of rapid change and modernisation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise workload and meet deadlines within conflicting demands. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to getting it right the first time.
  • Exceptional client service skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).
