Technical Developer

Job Introduction

The IT Development Team provides strategic and operational application development serving both internal and external clients of the firm.

Role Responsibility

  • Liaise with both technical and non-technical professionals to develop leading edge applications.
  • Develop and enhance core applications
  • Use ASP.net with C# on Framework 3.0 and above.
  • Use SQL Server to deliver database specific solutions (SQL 2008R2 and above)
  • Integrate diverse systems built on different platforms. 
  • Work on a variety of projects to specification and timescales.
  • Provide 3rd Line Technical Support and knowledge transfer to a dedicated Application Support team.
  • Create documentation of systems, including Technical and High Level Design Specifications, UML experience would be advantageous.
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols.
  • Complete development in line with the DAC Beachcroft IT Development QMS.
  • Provide estimates to Development Manager for work currently in the backlog.
  • Liaise with dedicated Quality Assurance Engineers for QA Testing.
  • Create and update User Stories using TFS.
  • Create necessary Technical and High Level Specifications.
  • Create necessary Change Management Documentation.
  • Provide Technical support to a dedicated Application Support Team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Should be competent with 3 levels of the Microsoft stack i.e. SQL, C# and Web front end development or
  • Some compromise to the above can be made if the developer has additional skills such as PHP or other technology used within DACB.
  • Should be able to produce requirements and estimates to existing application up to a value of 25 days.
  • Understands the point at which an architectural or design decision need to be made and requests validation from more senior personal. 
  • Should be able to recommend technical design for enhancement to systems.
  • Be capable of working autonomously on project initiatives.
  • Be capable of basic mentoring to more junior or inexperience members of the team.
