DAC Beachcroft is excited to announce an opportunity for a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join our Casualty Injury Team. In this role, you will assist a Senior Solicitor on complex, high-value and strategic defendant personal injury claims, predominantly over £250k. We are accepting applicants from all over the UK, offering the flexibility to work either remotely, in-office or hybrid working.
Overview of the Role
- Assist on Complex and Catastrophic Claims: Work alongside a leading lawyer in managing a number of complex and catastrophic claims to ensure that deadlines are met and cases are handled proactively to conclusion.
- Manage Your Own Caseload: Take charge of your own modest caseload whilst building relationships with key clients and their claims handlers, ensuring deadlines are met and cases are managed proactively to conclusion (if you wish to run a modest caseload).
- Meet Client Needs: Carry out work effectively to meet the needs of clients, the commercial requirements of the firm, and quality standards.
- Working collaboratively: Where required, work collaboratively with other teams ensuring that you build your internal network of contacts.
- Achieve Financial Targets: Work towards achieving agreed financial targets which includes a daily hours target of 6.5.
- Provide Accurate MI: Ensure prompt and accurate provision of MI using our state of the art MI management system.
- Support Case Strategy: Support a clear case strategy, ensuring cases run smoothly and balance the commercial interests of both the firm and the client.
- Apply Expertise: Apply appropriate and current technical expertise and case law, developing your own capabilities .
- Manage Risk: Effectively manage risk and compliance issues within each claim, escalating any emerging problems promptly.
- Engage with Clients: Support your lead lawyer by engaging with clients and supporting business development plans to maximize opportunities to meet and build rapport, always acting as an ambassador of the firm.

What you will do
- Assist with the running of complex claims to ensure that deadlines are met and cases managed proactively to conclusion
- Effectively running of own modest caseload to ensure deadlines are met and cases managed proactively to conclusion (if the candidate wishes to run a modest caseload)
- Ensure work is carried out effectively to meet the needs of the clients, the commercial requirements of the firm and the quality standards to include:
- Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols
- Achievement of agreed financial targets
- Prompt billing and collection of WIP and disbursements
- Prompt and accurate provision of MI
- Supporting a clear case strategy which is adhered to, ensuring cases are run smoothly and balance the commercial interests of both the Firm and the client
- Applying appropriate and current technical expertise and case law
- Effectively managing risk and compliance issues within each case, ensuring any emerging problems are escalated promptly to their Supervisor in the first instance
- Engaging with clients where appropriate to maximise opportunities to meet and build rapport with clients, at all times acting as an ambassador of the firm
- Contribute to Business Development and client relationship activity in support of the Client Relationship Partner where required
- Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications.
Who you are
- 0-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with EL/PL experience. However, we are happy to consider candidates with alternative backgrounds such as Claimant, disease, volume Defendant work, clinical negligence, profin etc.
- Some experience in Multi Track or Fast Track Claims.
- Somone who is enthusiastic about joining a well-established and highly thought of complex and catastrophic team and who can see themselves developing into a complex lawyer in their own right in the future.
- A candidate who seeks exposure to clients and who is willing to build their own external and internal network of contacts.
- A high level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures
- Good legal knowledge relevant to their area of expertise, albeit training and support will be given.
- Good organisation skills, able to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload and meet conflicting demands.
- High standard of written and oral communication skills.
- Able to produce work to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail and concern for quality of service.
- Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
