Reconnect Return to Work Support Programme

DAC Beachcroft knows that returning to the law following a career break can be challenging. This programme is delighted to support qualified legal professionals returning to the law to be job ready.
DAC Beachcroft is offering successful candidates career coaching and job skills training workshops and skills refresh sessions with support tailored to the legal profession. Following completion of the Support Programme you will be strongly encouraged to apply to the Firm’s award winning Reconnect Returner Programme, a 6-month returnship across a large number of their teams with potential opportunities in Bristol, Southampton, London, Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester. The initial 6-month returnships often lead to longer term or permanent employment.

This comprehensive programme will provide tailored sector specific support to address your practical and psychological barriers to returning to work. It has been designed with key components to support you to be job-ready including:
Return to Work Coaching Modules
- Build your professional confidence
- Develop an optimal return to work mindset
- Identify your key strengths
Job Skills Training Modules
- Understand how to write a compelling CV
- Learn how to create (or refresh) your LinkedIn profile following a career break
- Develop interview skills and know how to prepare for an interview
- Develop networking skills
- Learn about flexible working and how to approach it with employers
- Create an action plan for your return to work
ReFresh Sessions
Colleagues at DAC Beachcroft will deliver a series of interactive update sessions, to help you to refresh your knowledge and prepare you for future interviews and returning to work. You will have the opportunity to learn from the speakers, to engage in discussion and to ask your questions.
The Ideal Candidate
Who is it for?
To be eligible for the programme, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have been on a career break for 18 months or more (as of Oct 2023). Your career break could be for any reason. During your career break you may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around other commitments or not done any paid work for a number of years
- You will be a qualified legal professional with previous experience of working in a law firm
- You will have a strong desire to return to private practice
- You must have the right to work in the UK
DAC Beachcroft particularly welcomes applications from returners with longer career breaks.
When and how will the programme be delivered?
The programme will start on 15 November.
The 4 x Coaching & Skills Training Workshops will be delivered weekly by Women Returners. The workshops are 90-minutes and on Zoom.
The Refresh Sessions will be delivered in January 2024 on Zoom. These sessions will be facilitated by Women Returners and delivered by DAC Beachcroft.
Successful participants will join the programme virtually as a cohort creating a supportive peer group of other returners.
What happens after the programme?
You’ll be encouraged to apply to the DAC Beachcroft Reconnect Programme offering 6-month returnship opportunities.
