Real Estate (Residential Development) - Senior Lawyer

Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen for a  Senior Lawyer (possibly Partner) to join our Real Estate team. You will be a part of our national residential development practice with an excellent reputation for housebuilder work.

Our housebuilder clients include Vistry Group, Barratts, Bellway Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Crest Nicholson Countryside, CALA and Persimmon.

The candidate will work closely with solicitors from our highly regarded Real Estate team from other disciplines including, planners, construction, corporate, tax and property finance lawyers. 

Role Responsibility

  • Manage key client relationships
  • Manage a large and varied caseload involving immediate land and strategic land
  • Allocate work according to complexity
  • Lead and manage matters of high value and quality in sensitive and complex environments
  • Research new issues to find creative, cost effective and appropriate solutions for clients
  • Understand and comply with client service level agreements
  • Business development and marketing activity
  • Develop awareness of firm wide strategies
  • Build an awareness of the firm's other services through effective networks and research
  • Support and develop more junior members of the team

The Ideal Candidate

Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, dedicated and have a strong technical and client relationship skills.

We are seeking a commercially focused Senior Lawyer or Partner with a genuine interest and experience in Residential Development work.

  • Confidence and a willingness to engage with and develop existing client relationships and build new ones through own initiative and DACB initiatives
  • High quality level of technical expertise
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team oriented and collegiate
  • Ability to analyse and apply legal principles and facts to derive technically sound, commercial strategies for complex cases
  • Sound judgment in decision making and being focused on client and case needs
  • Competent legal knowledge and understanding derived from specialist expertise in sector of operation
  • Up to date knowledge of legal developments and case law in relevant market and industry sector
  • An awareness of external market conditions, affecting the firm and its clients
  • A good level of computer literacy
