Quality Auditor - Leeds

Job Introduction

DAC Beachcroft is currently recruiting for a Quality Auditor to join their Quality Audit team.  The Quality Auditor's role will involve co-ordinating audits, undertaking evaluations and providing timely and comprehensive reporting.

The team comprises of 12 dedicated auditors who carry out evaluations of files against a set criteria.  The team works across all locations and has the flexibility to work both remotely and on site as and when required. 

The Quality Audit Team is part of the Practice Governance & Risk Group which is responsible for managing compliance and risk within the firm.  Part of the Group's remit is to monitor quality in all groups and functions throughout the firm and the evaluation of quality is carried out predominantly by the Quality Audit Team.   

By regularly evaluating files including for external clients, we can ensure a continual improvement in the service the firm offers.  We can identify where further training may be required and ensure that corrective actions are taken to eliminate the cause and re-occurrence of non-conformities.

All audits carried out by the Quality Audit Team follow the same detailed process to ensure consistency and accuracy.  For each audit, one member of the Quality Audit Team will be assigned the role of 'lead auditor'.  The lead auditor will be responsible for the running of the audit, from making the initial contact with the audit sponsor through to delivering the results and agreeing corrective action.

Role Responsibility

  • Undertaking evaluations on matter files against agreed criteria for the business and clients
  • Accurately recording the results of the evaluations so that they can be collated into reports for feedback
  • Providing timely and comprehensive reporting, highlighting areas where criteria has not been met and identifying any trends and patterns in compliance levels

The role will develop and include:

  • Co-ordinating audits, including creating the necessary documentation for the audit, dealing with the logistics and liaising with the client at the appropriate time
  • Hosting regular audit meetings with the rest of the team to monitor any issues
  • Generating final reports for the client and leading on feedback meetings to discuss the findings with them
  • Agreeing the appropriate corrective action and feeding this back to the Quality & Information Security Manager for it to be monitored and followed up as appropriate

The role requires:

  • Ability to work flexibly with a combination of home and office working, including attendance at regular team meetings as required at DAC Beachcroft offices
  • The flexibility to travel to other offices as required.  This can involve staying away from home.  The length of time away from home and regularity will depend upon the requirements of the audit. Travel and staying away from home may also be required for team meetings and strategy days, reviews and appraisals.
  • Using the firm's various case management systems as files can be paper, electronic or both
  • A high level of objectivity in reviewing files against criteria
  • Ongoing learning and development

  • Working on more than one audit at any given time

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good IT skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Office packages although further training can be given if required

  • Some knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules or previous experience of file handling would be an advantage, but is not necessary.
  • Previous knowledge of auditing is not required as full training will be given although an interest in Quality Management would be required.
