Pensions (Solicitor/Associate) 2-5+ PQE, London

Job Introduction

The Pensions Team (part of the Employment, Pensions and Immigration (EPI) Group) at DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint a Solicitor/Associate to join its expanding team in London.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing pensions practice in a dynamic, people-centric international law firm.  The supportive, diverse and collegiate environment provides the perfect platform for the right candidate to work on a variety of interesting matters and actively grow the practice further. 

We undertake a range of pensions work for private sector and public sector employers, government bodies, and trustees of occupational DB and DC pension schemes.  We act directly for financial institutions, blue chip companies, PLC’s, multi nationals, charities and health sector clients including NHS Trusts as well as working with other teams within the firm such as corporate and litigation.

Role Responsibility

Specific responsibilities include but are not restricted to undertaking the following:

  • Act as a point of contact and advise clients on a range of pension matters, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience and the expectations and needs of clients of the national team.  This role will be focussed on non-contentious work including advisory work and transactional work;
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge across key areas of pensions law practice;
  • Manage client relationships including work flow and financial management;
  • Build effective internal and external networks;
  • Help build and enhance client relationships; and
  • Undertake marketing and business development activities. 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5+ years’ PQE in pensions law, and experience of participating in business development and marketing activities.  The successful candidate will be:

  • Strong academically, enthusiastic and determined with a focus on generating commercial solutions to problems on behalf of clients;
  • A confident communicator with the ability to develop and manage relationships with clients and influence at all levels; 
  • Able to demonstrate self-sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of their own competence/authority; and
  • Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with, and support, other members of the team.
