Due to ongoing client wins and impressive growth, DAC Beachcroft's Casualty Injury team is on the lookout for a number of talented Paralegals (or equivalent). Whether you're an experienced Paralegal or new to Defendant Personal Injury work, we have this exciting opportunity for you!

Our Casualty Injury team focuses on employers' liability and public liability claims, with claims valued up to £100k. This is your chance to work within a dynamic and supportive team (with full and supportive training provided), handling a diverse range of EL/PL claims and making a real impact.

DAC Beachcroft is therefore looking for dedicated Paralegals who are ready to focus their careers. We are accepting applicants from all over the UK, offering the flexibility to work either remotely, in-office or hybrid working.   We are also keen to hear from anyone based in or around Birmingham or south Wales.  

Overview of the Role
  • Efficient Case Management: Proactively manage your own caseload of predominantly litigated fast track matters to ensure deadlines are met and cases are concluded efficiently.  More experienced lawyers will predominantly deal with multi-track claims.
  • Training:  Embrace the training provided and the support given to all new starters from our 'Training Team' to assist in your legal development, the litigation process and with handling litigated claims more generally.
  • Clear Case Strategy: With support where needed, devising clear case strategies, balancing the commercial interests of both the firm and the client.
  • Client and Firm Needs: Ensure work meets client needs, firm’s commercial requirements, and quality standards
  • Working collaboratively: Where required, work collaboratively with other teams ensuring that you build your internal network of contacts.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply current technical expertise and case law to each claim whilst also maintaining and developing technical knowledge through training sessions and reading relevant publications.
  • Engage with Clients:        Engage with clients  and support business development plans to maximize opportunities to meet and build rapport, always acting as an ambassador of the firm.

What you will do 
 
  • Effectively running the file to ensure deadlines are met and cases managed proactively to conclusion
  • Ensure work is carried out effectively to meet the needs of the clients, the commercial requirements of the firm and the quality standards to include:
  • Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols
  • Achievement of agreed financial targets
  • Prompt billing and collection of WIP and disbursements
  • Prompt and accurate provision of MI
  • Devising a clear case strategy which is adhered to, ensuring cases are run smoothly and balance the commercial interests of both the Firm and the client
  • Applying appropriate and current technical expertise and case law
  • Effectively managing risk and compliance issues within each case, ensuring any emerging problems are escalated promptly to their Supervisor in the first instance
  • Engaging with clients where appropriate to maximise opportunities to meet and build rapport with clients, at all times acting as an ambassador of the firm
  • Contribute to Business Development and client relationship activity in support of the Client Relationship Partner where required
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications 
  
Who you are 

We have a number of Paralegal roles available and are seeking;
  • Graduates who have no legal work experience but have undertaken either a legal degree and/or LPC (or similar); OR
  • Paralegals with 0-2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with EL/PL experience.  However, we are happy to consider candidates with alternative backgrounds such as Claimant, motor, disease, pre-litigated Defendant work, clinical negligence, profin etc.
  • Good organisation skills, able to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload, meet conflicting demands and has a strong work ethic.
  • Able to produce work to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail and concern for quality of service.
  • Somone who is enthusiastic about joining a well-established and highly thought of Casualty Injury (EL/PL) team and who can see themselves building a future with DAC Beachcroft.
  • Eager to collaborate and build lasting relationships with colleagues, becoming an integral part of a growing team.
