Legal Executive - Specialist Insurance

Job Introduction

The Specialist Insurance Team requires a Legal Executive, ideally with litigation experience, to join our team. The team acts for London Market Insurers with an Irish exposure as well as Irish Insurers.

Role Responsibility

Assist solicitors on the team with day to day file management and progression, including the following:

  • Preparing affidavits of discovery
  • Preparing instructions to counsel/ experts and collating accompanying documents
  • Attending counsel in court
  • Arranging witness consultations and taking witness statements
  • Liaise with insureds, brokers and insurer clients as each claim progresses
  • Assist clients with Data Subject Access Requests

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience of working as a legal executive is not essential but would be advantageous
  • Client focused with an ability to build strong relations with client and third party contacts at all levels
  • Evidence of communication skills is essential –the role requires an ability to communicate confidently both verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and unsupervised
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet required deadlines
  • Evidence of organisational and time management skills is essential
  • Quality service - ability to produce work to the high standards required; produce work with accuracy
  • IT – competent in Word, Excel, Outlook and ideally experience of a case management system and electronic working
  • Team-working skills - a flexible and self-motivated team player who is able to respect and support others within the team to achieve common goals.
