IT Business Partner

Job Introduction

DAC Beachcroft LLP are currently recruiting for an IT Business Partner to join their IT team based at our Bristol offices. 

The  IT Business Partner will be responsible for IT service delivery to the relevant business areas. The IT Business Partner will be the interface between the IT department and the business and will be accountable for ensuring that relevant IT solutions are delivered in line with the IT strategy.

Office hours: Monday to Friday: 9.00-5.00 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with a proven ability to work closely and influence Senior Managers and Directors in their business functions

The IT Relationship team is responsible for ensuring high quality relationships both internal and external, that appropriate governance exists and that IT drives effective communications with all parties.

Role Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain effective and pro-active relationships with specific IT business customers, external stakeholders and suppliers to support and enable the successful delivery of the firm wide IT strategy.
  • Demonstrate understanding of business goals and objectives.
  • Provide clear direction through the use of effective communication within IT, the business and external stakeholders.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how the firm works, the issues and challenges it faces, and how technology might be applied to address these.
  • Work with the business to establish an understanding of best practices and how systems and technologies can be supported to exploit these.
  • Act as the focal IT contact for the Senior Leaders in the specified Business area and be the interface between the business and the specialised teams within IT.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of agreed and specific functional/IT roadmaps and plans procuring appropriate IT specialist support as needed.
  • Act as a champion for the delivery of the IT Strategy in specified Business Area.
  • Interface into IT and strategic suppliers.
  • Lead the IT agenda for change initiatives within business area, ensures all IT components are in line with the agreed strategy and roadmaps.
  • Provide a solution focused IT Consultancy service to key stakeholders linking business initiatives back to the ongoing development of the IT strategy.
  • Understand and support the development of credible business cases and influence and work with the wider IT team to ensure the proper documentation, modelling of business processes and delivery of such business cases.
  • Delivery of high quality IT communication through appropriate channels and forums.
  • Monitors the level of client satisfaction at regular intervals or after each significant delivery of product or service. Responds to clients' queries and complaints. Ensures that, when necessary, corrective action is taken by own organisation and by the client organisation.
  • Focus on business improvement and business processes, as well as delivering appropriate technology solutions
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols.
  • Clear measures and targets demonstrating agreed levels of continuous improvements.
  • Ensuring that IT departmental risks are identified and correlating controls are monitored and tested.
  • Report failures in work activities, procedures or processes.
  • Compliance and adherence to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Provides thought leadership, looks for opportunity to meet business strategy through the appropriate use of technology.
  • Lead virtual teams spanning all IT disciplines, business functions and IT supplier organisations to explore and exploit IT opportunities. 
  • Some travel to other office locations required.
  • Any other tasks as required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven ability to work closely and influence Senior Managers and Directors in their business functions
  • Ability to convey complex technical information to the business in a simplified format.
  • Experience working on the implementation work stream of a programme
  • Ability to challenge and chase down actions effectively
  • Proven experience of facilitating workshops and meetings
  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
  • Highly organised - produces and delivers against own plans
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with competing demand
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple third party suppliers
  • Team working but also self-driven
  • Strong use of process to ensure control for project activities
  • Attentive to detail and focused on delivering high quality, accurate outputs
  • Proven track record in business analysis
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced change environment
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven and highly effective stakeholder management and engagement to executive level.
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Strong persuading and influencing skills
  • Proven experience of managing and supporting major change initiatives
  • Negotiation, presentation and meeting skills, as preparation for playing a leading role in relationships with clients/users at a senior management level in order to achieve and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Skills such as business case preparation, project definition, planning, risk management, project change control, configuration management, financial management and staff selection for managing projects.
  • Degree educated desirable or of graduate calibre supported by extensive IT and business skills and experience is desirable
  • Experience of working in an ITIL environment is desirable.
