Group Tax Manager - Bristol

Job Introduction

DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint a Group Tax Manager to work in our Finance Team in Bristol. 

The main focus of this role is to lead the DACB Group tax function which provides strategic and detailed advice to Finance Leadership, Firm leadership, Partners and Finance colleagues.

The DACB Group regularly has significant domestic and overseas projects with significant tax implications, this role is crucial in managing these tax risks and working with advisors to develop effective solutions.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage and oversee the DACB group tax team
  • Oversee and manage the annual tax cycle
  • Work closely with other colleagues in finance to identify, analyse and develop solutions to tax risks and issues
  • In-house tax advisor on acquisitions, new office set ups, lateral hires , restructuring, global tax issues
  • Work with external advisors and the tax team to ensure the DAC Beachcroft group meets its compliance obligations
  • Oversee partners’ self-assessment returns ensuring they are completed accurately and on time
  • Work with external advisors on all DACB projects as and when required
  • Oversee completion of tax certificates and W8 forms
  • Monitor permanent establishment risk
  • Work with accounting team to prepare tax budget as part of the annual budget cycle
  • Keep the DACB group up to date with the latest tax developments
  • Oversee calculations of annual tax reserve percentages for members
  • Review of S455 risk and implementation of procedures to minimise risk
  • Review contracts with the Compliance team to ensure they are tax compliant
  • Oversee review of annual PSA, P11D and IR35 compliance
  • Act as internal point of contact for VAT and employment tax issues
  • Annually review transfer pricing local and master file documentation
  • Advise on transfer pricing issues
  • Oversee preparation of annual RDEC Claim
  • Oversee preparation of Corporate and Partnership returns
  • Review quarterly and bi monthly VAT returns
  • Ensure key stakeholders are informed of any tax risks from changes in legislation

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA and CTA). 
  • Experience in a professional services environment / partnership is highly advantageous
  • Knowledge and experience in UK Corporation Tax compliance, International Taxation Issues and complex group structures is highly preferable. Knowledge in UK income tax is advantageous and high level knowledge of VAT and payroll taxes is beneficial
  • Able to communicate confidently both orally and in writing at all levels and to convey complex financial and accounting concepts in a clear, straightforward manner
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work well within a team environment
  • Strong skills in Excel are required
  • IT literate with good knowledge of current accounting system technology. Experience of working with the Elite accounting system, Digita and tax software (CCH) would be an advantage
  • Able to be flexible in terms of a changing environment and constantly changing workload
  • Organised and able to handle multiple demands and deadlines simultaneously
  • Capable and effective team leader
