DAC Beachcroft is looking for a Senior Associate to join our Corporate, Banking and Insolvency team in our Bristol office. This role is full-time and permanent, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis, forming an integral part of an established team of 40 fee earners, across the practice areas in Bristol and London.  

The Corporate, Banking and Insolvency team at DAC Beachcroft is a large team with a significant presence in our offices in Bristol and London. The Bristol and London teams work closely together to provide an excellent service for our clients. The main focus of the team's work is dealing with corporate contracts, bank loans for both the bank and the borrower. The work is very involved and engaging.

Our clients are discerning and expect a gold standard of service. We advise a number of in-house legal teams at global investment banks, asset managers and insurers as well as significant clients in the technology and leisure sectors. The team also services a high profile public sector client base, including major hospitals and commissioning bodies.

The team have an excellent track record of homegrowing talent with a number of senior members of the team starting out as Paralegals or Trainees. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a team that will give you a great opportunity to progress your career.

Role Responsibility

  • Managing caseload and/or supporting Partners and colleagues on larger complex cases.
  • Analysing and applying legal principles and facts to derive technically sound, commercial strategies for complex cases.
  • Drafting and reviewing correspondence, reports and litigation documents.
  • Maintaining caseload in good organisational shape and in accordance with client quality and service level agreements.
  • Co-ordinating instructions and workflow for key client accounts, comprising triaging instructions and delegating workload to the most appropriate team member.
  • Supervising junior team members across a case from start to finish.
  • Managing and develop junior members of the team.
  • Developing an understanding of the client's, and our business, and how the two fit together.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ideally a 5+yr PQE lawyer with experience across the CBIT space.
  • The ability to run your own caseload and work in an autonomous fashion.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Capable of analysing and applying legal principles to a complex factual scenario, with a view to achieving a commercial resolution for the client.
  • Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day issues.
  • The ability to think and act quickly and under pressure for clients who find themselves in crisis.
  • Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
