Job Introduction
DAC Beachcroft’s Claims Solutions Data Analytics team provides products to both internal and external clients. This is an area of rapid development, with the team leading the way in making the Claims Solutions Group a truly data led organisation.
We are now recruiting for an BI Developer to join the team in our Belfast office, where the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the BI reporting suite across the whole of Claims Solutions Group.
The BI Developer plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to support the data-driven needs of DACB. This includes the creation of Qlik/Power BI dashboards, and BI reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and business users to understand their BI reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will have background in, dashboard design, ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes, data modelling, using such tools as T-SQL, Qlik, Power BI, SSRS, SSIS.
The role balances technical development, change management, stakeholder management, troubleshooting and responding to business queries, alongside robust documentation with a clear focus on operational delivery and accuracy, often within demanding timescales.

What you will do
- Qlik/Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Qlik/Power BI dashboards and reporting to meet business needs.
- Data Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and business logic, providing analytical insights via dashboards.
- Monitoring of the day to day operational aspects of the ETL processes.
- Writing efficient T-SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and BI reporting purposes.
- Collaboration: Liaise with legal colleagues, IT, and other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality BI solutions.
- Data Governance: Assist in implementing data governance practices.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including data sources, data models, and report structures.
- Is also willing to take ownership on any other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Who you are
- Essential:
- Degree level qualification in maths, science, business or computing.
- BI Development: Proven experience in developing BI solutions, especially with Qlik/Power BI. Ideally within Legal, Finance or other regulated industries
- Data Analysis: Demonstrated ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights.
- SQL Proficiency: T-SQL skills for creating and managing complex queries.
- Desirable:
- Data Migration: Experience in migrating reporting and data sources from other platforms would be a plus
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of legal terminology and processes is beneficial but not required.
